A few weeks ago I thought it would be good to put a video together and asked through social media if people would send me photographs of their loved ones that I could include. I was totally overwhelmed by the response. I also miscalculated the emotional impact putting together the song and video would have on me.
There is a chorus that we used to sing in Sunday School which has always stuck in my mind. ‘The wise man built his house upon the rock’. This weekend I’m hopefully helping to build on Good Foundations…The Swansea City AFC Foundation.
I’ve worked with the ‘Rising Stars’ on lots of occasions, so I sort of know what to expect and they never let me down. The only way I can describe the evening was as I chatted and danced and sang with the company I experienced pure JOY.

The seasons will hopefully continue to change, and I expect I’ll still find my head full of questions and fears and doubts and worries but maybe this change of season I’ll take a lesson from my grandchildren. Maybe this time I’ll just enjoy the candy floss at the circus, the ice cream at Joes and the spooky cakes at Greggs.
In the world I inhabit, every week is very different. Some weeks its football or rugby, other weeks its radio or concerts. Last Sunday it was Butlins in Bognor Regis! The invitation came from legendary DJ and TV Presenter Mike Read to be a part of his Heritage Chart Christmas Special 2024.
Last Sunday I went to see a proper old fashioned derby at the Swansea.com Stadium. The excitement in the stands was tangible as the young voices screamed their encouragement to their idols on the pitch. If you miss some of the ‘passion and spice’ of the old game maybe you should try the ‘new’ game in town the next time Swansea Ladies are at home. You won’t be disappointed.
What a difference in a week. Everywhere you look now you can see the change in the seasons. This has got me thinking about how we cope with the changing seasons in our lives. Next Thursday marks the end of a very significant season in my life.
With under 2 weeks to go until my Golden Jubilee Concert at the Swansea Arena it was time to announce my final special guest to my band, Owen Paul. One by one I told them who it was, and everyone had the same question…How do you know him? The answer was even more out of the blue when I said …I don’t!!!
