I knew it was coming. I always know that it’s coming. It’s just a worry about when it will actually come. Will it come on the day, before the day or after the day? Thankfully this year I think its come at just the right time…the first cold of the winter!
It’s been a busy old week with invitations to sing at a variety of events but the question almost everyone has asked…will you wear the jacket? The second question is…where did you get it?
My friend turned to me at around 60 minutes into the Swansea versus Nottingham Forest game and said, ‘I don’t think there’s much in this game for us, I think I’m going to make an early exit’ I agreed. At 68mins I was thinking this has been a pretty good performance from the Swans against a good Premier League team. Then the magic started happening.
This week I was asked to host the BBC Radio 4 Sunday Worship which we recorded at the old Mynyddbach Chapel now known as the Calon Lan Centre. I was once told I should imagine I was talking to just one person. BUT, there’s always that little question at the back of your mind…’I wonder how many people are actually tuned in to the show?’ How about 1.6 Million!
Recently I have experienced the positive and negative effects of Social Media. Last Sunday I posted a picture of me with Rob Brydon on the Mumbles Prom. Its had over 300,000 views!
It all seemed a little surreal. Here was Esme Allchurch, a lady in her 90’s, widow of Ivor the Golden Boy of the 1958 Wales World Cup team, being cuddled by 6 foot something Cordell Broadus. Cordell, AKA Lil Snoop, Snoop Dogg’s son. What’s more Cordell seemed more bowled over by the meeting than she did!!!
Most Saturday mornings I take my granddaughter out for breakfast. At 6 years of age she has a unique take on life. She’d had a pretty good morning fleecing her grandfather and we were on the way home when she turned to me and said, ‘Baba, it looks as if you are going to have a baby.’
Today is the day. I know Swansea started their Championship season last weekend away at Middlesbrough. and I know we’ve had a 2 games at the Swansea.com stadium, a friendly against French Lige 1 side Lorient and a cup match last Tuesday against EFL League 2 side Crawley, but today is the day the season becomes real.
These days it’s hard to believe what you see. Is Snoop Dogg really eating a Joe’s Ice Cream…has Mal Pope really become…a cartoon!!!
