If we won every game without a struggle, without a drama how boring would it all be. If we take the easy option to ‘hoof the ball upfield’ rather than trust our talent and team to reach our goal, our way, we might end up always with just another average draw.
Last night I attended an Awards Ceremony at St David’s Hall in Cardiff. Black Tie, Red Carpet, Gin reception…the lot. I was there with my podcast co-host Johnny Tudor and we were both presenting awards. It was a night of music, networking, seeing old friends and awards.
The official title of the event was ‘It’s My Shout’ Awards Night 2023 and all of the recipients were in their teens or early 20’s.
I’m having a big party in October and you’re all invited. I’ve booked the venue and the entertainment. I’m not sure if there will be cake, jelly and blancmange but I’m sure there will be a bottle or two of bubbly.
I’d love to see you next Saturday at the Llewelyn Hall in the YMCA for a night of great chat and music. As well as having a good time you’ll also be helping keep the Counselling service alive.
If you want to make people do something or remind them of something every year you really need to come up with an annual celebration day…. so ‘Happy Wash Your Nose Day 2023 folks!
Sadly ‘Everyone Deserves’ isn’t just for Christmas. Yesterday we launched our Easter appeal in Swansea Market with a choir or two!
I love visiting the past, it’s just that I don’t want to live there. 50 years on I want to be a Butterfly and its time I grew some wings and took to the skies.
Over the years I have done any number of unusual gigs. This week I found myself hosting a concert at Westminster Cathedral, raising funds and awareness for a non-political Charity called ‘Friends of the Holy Land’. A Cathedral filled with Archbishops and Ambassadors.
Last weekend one of the most surprising and some would say ambitious political comebacks was splashed across the newspapers, radio and television. I remember when researching for the musical ‘Contender’, the story of the Heavyweight Champion Tommy Farr, reading a quote about boxing come backs. ‘The thing with come backs…they never come back!’
